Load binders G80

Load binders based on chains of class G80

What are load binders? Chain load binders are used to secure cargo transported on trucks and railroad platforms. In addition, chain load binders are used to secure cargo on ships and aircraft.

What is a G80 class chain? These are cargo chains of the 8th strength class used for the manufacture of load-gripping slings. Cargo chains of class 8 have good mechanical and tensile characteristics due to the use of alloy steel grades. In accordance with DIN 5687 and EN 818-2 standards, the chains are heat-treated for better corrosion resistance - blued in an oil bath.
For binders devices, chains of strength class 8 are used with a size ranging from 6.0 to 16.0 mm. The tensile strength factor of the load chain should be at least 4:1 to nominal working load limit.

Varieties of chain binders devices

A tensioning device (chain tensioner) is a special fastening device that provides tensioning of a chain branch and fixation of the load being transported on the platform. The G80 chain tensioner is available in two versions depending on the tensioner's operating principle:

1. Lever type load binder. Inexpensive but quick to install load binders that tension the chain instantly by pressing an eccentric lever. Although the tensioner works quickly, it will require considerable physical effort by the person securing the load with the lever-type chain tensioner. The ends of the tensioner are fitted with chain shortening hooks. The tentionisg reserve is about 50 mm.

2. Ratchet type load binder. They work on the principle of reciprocating movements of the tensioner handle in one direction, as a result of which the hooks converge or diverge when the chain is loaded and loosened, respectively. The price of such load binders depends on the manufacturer.
The presence of a pin on the hook will ensure reliable fixation and prevent it from slipping off the chain link during transportation.

When choosing a load binder, consider the chain gauge that can be used with the binder. The working and breaking parameters of the load binder are also important.
