Chain slings G80

Buy chain slings in Poland: we deliver on the day of order

The chain sling is considered to be the most durable type of detachable load gripping device for lifting and moving loads. In addition, only chain slings can be used at ambient temperatures up to +300°C, so they are the only possible option for moving loads in the main metallurgical shops where high temperatures are present. A load-gripping product based on a lifting chain is not afraid of contact with aggressive environments.

There are also 8 main advantages of chain slings:

1. Unlike wire rope slings, there are no elastic deformations in chain slings.
2. They cover the load tightly and, in comparison with other slings, are not damaged by sharp edges.
3. Convenient to store, easy to fold and do not take up much space.
4. The chain sling single leg can be shortened by installing special hooks of the lifting chain shorteners.
5. Easy to discard - it is very easy to identify a chain sling that is no longer suitable for further use.
6. A variety of designs. According to the number of legs, chain slings can be single-leg, two-leg, four-leg and even rare three-leg. Slings also differ in the type of slinging.
7. Durable. If used properly, a chain sling can last up to 10 years or more.
8. The possibility of replacing the rigged elements and the sling's maintainability - only this type of slings can boast of this feature.

Features of the chain sling manufacturing process

The chain sling manufacturing process resembles the assembly of a construction set. The main parts of such a construction set are a lifting chain of strength class 8 or 10 (a lighter chain with the same tensile characteristics) and connectors, links, and hooks corresponding to this class. In case of wear of one of the components of the removable sling, you can order it separately in our catalogue and replace the worn part, thereby restoring the functionality of the sling.

In accordance with the international standards EN 818-1, EN 818-2, EN 818-4 (for chain slings of class G-80 and G-100), the following chain sling designs are allowed: single-leg, two-leg, three-leg, four-leg, endless universal. The universal chain sling is used for choke hitch. For this method of securing loads a two-leg chain sling is also used but equipped with a choker-hooks and omega links. The hook slides along the sling leg and snaps on the terminal link forming a tight hitch around the load.

How to order a chain sling online?

The online store «RIGGING SYSTEMS» offers a range of chain slings of strength classes 8 and 10. Products of strength class 10 are characterized by a higher price, durability, lightweight design with the same breaking parameters as sling components made according to class G-80. The components of slings of different classes also differ in colour. G-100 chains and rigging elements are supplied in purple or blue.

Having decided on the lifting mean class, we move on to choosing the load capacity of the product. Chain slings are made on the basis of chains with a gauge of 6 to 32 mm in the load capacity range of 1-67 tones. An important factor is the design of the chain sling (single-leg, two-leg, four-leg). Three-leg slings are used very rarely, mainly for lifting loads with a displaced center of gravity. And the last criterion for choosing a sling is the length of the leg (especially for working in confined spaces).

We recommend purchasing a chain sling with a length reserve, and to reduce the overhang, order the installation of limiting hooks to shorten the legs when necessary.
