V-slings: a professional solution for vehicle recovery
This catalog presents specially designed products for convenient loading of a faulty or accident-damaged vehicle onto a tow truck platform—tow truck slings (V-shaped slings, V-sling). These devices are also suitable for SUV owners and off-road enthusiasts. With a V-slings, you can hook up a vehicle without using a standard tow bar or tow hook. Large American J-hooks (400 mm long) are handy for securing a car by its levers, beams, or other reinforced parts of the vehicle's structure.
Types and advantages of using tow truck V-slings
Structurally, a tow truck sling consists of two hooks that are attached to two sling branches suspended on a single common link via connecting elements. Through this link, the sling is connected to the hook of a car winch or tow truck winch for the evacuation of a wheeled vehicle. The slings have standard dimensions: 1200 or 1500 mm. Towing products are designed for a working load of 2.8 tons.
Depending on the material used to manufacture the branches of the V-shaped sling, there are two types of products:
1. Webbing V-sling. The sling branches are made of load-bearing polyester tape, which is used for the production of cargo slings. The hook is connected to the loop of the textile V-sling using rigging clamps.
2. Chain V-sling. The sling branches are made of two sections of load-bearing chain, the ends of which are connected to J-hooks via butterfly links. Additionally, chain tow straps are equipped with shortening hooks to adjust the length of the branches during towing/evacuation of the vehicle.
