For lifting and installation work, special fastening points are used, which consist of a lifting bolt, nut and link. The eye bolt and eye nut create a detachable bolted connection with a nut and bolt, respectively, which are welded or provided for by the design of the load to be lifted and moved (mounting threaded nuts and studs).
Types of attachment points
Depending on the intended use, there are 2 main types of attachment points:
1. Lifting attachment points. These are threaded rigging products designed for frequent lifting operations. The rigging elements are mounted by screwing into (onto) the body of the load. There are bolted (eyebolts and eye links) and nut (eye-nuts) threaded connections. Lifting of loads using slings and load lashing points is carried out by the lugs or link. A characteristic feature of this type of rigging is its inherent lifting characteristics according to the G80 class, which makes it possible to use the attachment points for regular lifting operations. The safety factor of the lifting points is 4:1. The thread type used is from M6 to M24. The maximum lifting capacity of the manufactured lashing points is 42
tons. It is important to note that the rated load capacity of the attachment points is observed only when the lashing points are positioned vertically. When fastening at a 90° angle, the load capacity of the product is reduced. For example, an eyebolt with an M6 thread has a lifting capacity of 0.4 tons when slinging vertically, while at 90° this parameter is reduced to 0.15 tons.
2. Mounting points of attachment. Threaded rigging elements used only for installation, i.e. not designed for regular lifting operations, constant loads and dynamic jerks. This type of threaded rigging is used when installing turning, milling and other types of machine tools, industrial plants, machines, mechanisms and assemblies, metal building structures by screwing / screwing into stationary threaded connections (bolt or nut) provided for these tasks.
A distinctive feature of the threaded mounting points is the surface treatment of the rigging products with a zinc layer of 6-8 microns. This improves the anti-corrosion characteristics of the fasteners. Eye bolts and eye nuts are usually used for mounting lightweight structures and low-value cargo, where the use of load lashing points of strength class 80 is not economically viable due to the fact that the price of the latter is an order of magnitude higher.
Mounting eyebolts are manufactured in accordance with DIN 580, and eye nuts are manufactured in accordance with DIN 582. They are supplied in the range of sizes M6 - M36 (diameter and thread type).
Welded attachment points are a type of G80 class lifting equipment
Welded attachment points are universal rigging used for lifting metal structures and products (metal sheets, angles, channels) that do not have fixed attachment points (threaded rods and nuts). This type of rigging is equipped with a welding pad, which is welded directly to the metal surface of the load using electric welding. Lifting through the eyebolt is carried out using lifting slings that are fixed by a hook or eye, depending on the type of product.
The distinctive feature of the welded hooks and eyes is their compliance with the G80 class, which makes it possible to use the rigging for regular lifting operations. Rigging fasteners with a welding pad are available in the load capacity range of 2.0 - 8.0 tons in two design variants:
1. Hook type SL-19 with welding pad is a rigging element made of high-strength alloy steel in accordance with the requirements of EN1677-4. It can be welded to any flat metal surface. For example, to an excavator bucket. The safety factor is 5:1.
2. Welded eyelet type SL-349 is a load fastener made of high-strength alloy steel in accordance with EN1677-4. It can be used as an attachment point, an auxiliary component for tying down loads with tie-down straps or lifting loads with lifting slings. The safety factor is 4:1.
