Protective pads
Protective pads for slings, lashing straps, and car transport straps: purpose of consumables. To protect against mechanical wear and premature failure of the polyester textile tape used in the construction of lifting slings, lashing straps, and car transport straps, special consumables are used - pads.
Protective movable pads must move freely and without obstruction along the entire length of the sling, lashing or car transport strap in order to prevent the polyester tape from coming into contact with the corners and sharp edges of the load at the point of contact between the load-lifting or fastening device and the load.
Types of protective pads
To increase the service life of load-lifting slings and tie-down straps, we recommend using the following types of pads:
PVC covers - used to protect polyester slings from damage by sharp edges of loads that are to be lifted and moved (angle bars, rolled metal, building materials, etc.). Protective PVC covers are sold by the meter and are available in any required length.
Textile-rubber sleeves are reinforced covers for textile slings and belts used in conditions of regular increased stress, for example, with reinforced concrete products. Textile covers are additional pads made of polyester tape that are applied to areas of regular stress. They significantly extend the service life of the sling.
Rubber pads are flexible rectangular products with cutouts at the edges, through which a textile sling or tie strap is threaded. Available in two versions: for 50 mm and 100 mm wide tape (overlay dimensions 130 x 80 mm and 300 x 150 mm, respectively).
Plastic pads (corner) - products in the form of corner pieces, each shelf of which has holes for textile tape 50 or 100 mm wide. Plastic corner pads not only protect flexible polyester tape from sharp cutting edges, but also allow you to securely fix the load, preventing it from slipping or skewing.
